Names and Faces

At the dedication of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. , The Wall, someone exclaimed, "The names! Oh, the names!" That glistening black wall bearing over 50,000 names was moving to the extreme.

In Dusty Rose's posted videos below it is the faces that move you to the extreme. "The faces! Oh, the faces!"

Sometimes I play the videos just to look at the faces. Some videos I turn off the sound and just gaze at the faces of these men who fought and many died. The pain, the grief, the loss! I did not know them, and yet I do know them. They are the sons and daughters of America - our sons and daughters - my sons and daughters.

The lower half of her August postings are also very moving, paying tribute to her many heroes. I watch them and "cry-baby", as she calls it. And as she does.

"The faces! Oh, the faces!"
